Asian Games 2023: All You Need To Know

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event which is held every 4 years. Countries from all over Asia participate in various events. Originally, the event was supposed to be held in 2022 but had to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year will officially be the 19th Asian Games, as it started in 1951. The Olympic Council of Asia has been responsible for organizing the events since 1982. The Asian Games 2023 schedule has an exciting lineup of sports, including hockey, boxing, golf, softball, e-sports, badminton, archery, exercise, swimming, and more.

India has had immense involvement in the Asian Games, considering that the first-ever event was held in New Delhi in 1951. India also has a strong track record in the Asian Games, having previously sent a contingent of 570 players to compete in 36 sports for the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta.

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will be hosted by China from September 19 to October 8, 2023. With as many as 482 events and 40 sports, the eagerly anticipated schedule for the event has finally been announced, and you can check it out here.
