Located on Waterfield road, gourmet burger chain, Burgs caters to all the burger enthusiasts with a menu offering not only chicken but pork, beef, fish, lamb and veggie burgers. Once on Waterfield Road, the place is hard to miss with its big cave like entrance and structure. The owners of the restaurant have gone for a pristine white ambience which looks cool but a little weird for a burger joint. I tried the ‘Birdy Num Num’ – a chicken burger and the ’The Burg’. The Birdy Num Num (Rs. 215) was pleasant but I didn’t taste the promised ‘gooey cheese’ centre in the middle of the chicken patty. The burger was strictly average and ultimately disappointing. I personally recommend the ‘The Burg’ (Rs. 190) with its juicy beef patty, a béarnaise sauce and caramelized onions. The burger was absolutely delicious and a great follow up to the unsatisfactory ‘Birdy Num Num’. Food fanatics who feel one burger just isn’t enough can go in for ‘The Big Burg’ (Rs. 275) with two tenderloin patties. The bread used at ‘Burgs’ disappoints with its crumbly texture and stale taste-I much prefer the McDonalds burger bun. Also available on the menu are onion rings (Rs. 99) which were really good accompanied by a tangy dip. ‘Burgs’ also offers some unusual ice cream milkshakes like the Vanilla and Lavender with marshmallows shake and the Chocolate with Zesty Orange shake (Rs. 139). Unfortunately, there isn’t a variety for all the health freaks with only one salad available on the menu and one tofu burger. ‘Burgs’ is a great alternative to the usual burger joints with a wider variety and some interesting beverages but be prepared to shell out a lot more than you are used to paying at your regular fast food restaurants. 4&5, Plot No. 248, New Kamal Building, Waterfield Road, Bandra West , Mumbai
