20-Year-Old Indian Youth, Chinmay Prabhu Makes It To The Guinness Book Of World Record

A 20-year-old Mumbai resident, Chinmay Prabhu has set a world record. He has made it to the Guinness Book of World Record by solving nine Pyraminx, a pyramid-shaped Rubik’s cube in just 1 minute 48 seconds.

Studying BSc(IT) from KES College in Kandivali, Prabhu also chased his passion and performed a challenging task for which he had been practising for 5 years. Chinmay solved the Rubik’s pyramid cube at the Goregaon Sports Club last year on December 9 by sitting under water.

What makes Chinmay Prabhu’s task more commendable is that the Guinness had set a target for him to solve four cubes, but he went on to solve nine. Five months after performing the task, Chinmay received a Guinness certificate on 15th March 2019.

Before making it to the Guinness Book, Prabhu’s achievement was also recorded by World Records India. Back in 2017, his name was listed in the Limca Book of Records for solving a mirror cube using his feet.

In order to be able to make it to the Guinness World Book of Records, Chinmay had started training five months back. Sources state that Prabhu could initially last underwater for only 30-35 seconds, but undivided practice, enthusiasm and dedication helped him increase his breath holding the capacity to one and a half minute.

Very recently, Prabhu’s video of solving the Pyraminx is floating on Guinness website titling as ‘Most Pyraminx (Rubik’s cube) solved underwater’ and on other social media platforms as well.

Chinmay is a self-taught cuber who learnt the skill from YouTube and used common logic to master the sport. Sources state that he has around 80 different kinds of cubes and has participated in 12 national cubic competitions till now.

Now being a master of cubing, Prabhu has started teaching others this sports as well, with his youngest student ageing 4.
