Eco-Friendly Valentine's Day Gifts

Diss expensive gifts this Valentine’s Day. Instead, DIY your way into the heart of your significant other

FOR HIM

STEP 1.
Pick an old piece of cloth and cut two pieces, one bigger than the other.

STEP 2.
Fold the smaller piece of cloth into a rectangular shape and stitch at the centre.

STEP 3.
Now fold the bigger piece of cloth like in the image.

STEP 4.
Stitch to bind the two ends together.

STEP 5.
Take the smaller piece of already stitched cloth and sew it from end to end so that the larger piece is cinched at the centre. Finally, insert a clip-on at the back.

FOR HER

STEP 1.
Take an old book or newspaper and cut out hearts.

STEP 2.
Paint the cut out hearts in colours of your choice. Pink and red work best

STEP 3.
Use a sewing machine to string the hearts together

STEP 4.
Stitch over the hearts individually and leave a length of thread. Go over the next heart in the same fashion till all the hearts have formed a neat and sturdy garland.

STEP 5.
Decorate a mirror or a wall with the garland. You could also paste cute messages on the hearts for your partner
