La Plaisir, Pune (For Two Persons Rs. 700)

CUISINE: European, Desserts

BITES AND BOOZE: If you’re a fan of petit cafés and have a sweet tooth, Le Plaisir is the place for you. With an option between sandwiches, pastas, salads and savoury crepes, they’ve got your main course well covered. No matter what you get, a side of their Cheesy Garlic Bread is an absolute must eat. The place doesn’t serve alcohol, but their House Iced Tea and Lemonade more than make up for it. Better than their food, are their desserts. The macaroons are delicious and come in five or six different flavours, salted caramel being one of the best. The Non-baked Hazelnut Cheesecake is rich and creamy and topped with a generous layer of Nutella, a perfect end to your meal.
FAB OR DRAB: Nestled between shops on a busy street, it’s a small bistro that is easy to miss. The feel of the place is very homely, and an entire wall is dedicated to their customers’ doodles. But with a capacity to seat only around 20 people at a time, be prepared to wait for a table.
Shop No. 4 B, Lane 6 Intersection, Bhandarkar Road, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune, Maharashtra 411004
