Let’s Drown In The Rainbow Colours. It’s Pride Month!!

The world is all set to wrap itself with the rainbow flag. It’s that time of the year again when the world is going to celebrate the pride month! With the arrival of June, the pride month too has arrived.

What started off as a fight for justice and liberation for the LGBTQ, recognised as the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, has now become an event of tribute and celebration. The Stonewall Uprising was an incident that occurred on the 28th June 1969 which saw violent demonstrations carried out by the gay community at Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village, New York City.

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. If you are in a holiday mood and having trouble in circling on a destination to travel to, you can pick any popular destination that celebrates the pride month and join the pride parade. You are sure to have a delightful time. Isn’t it a unique way to spend your holiday?

Do you know which destinations are best to celebrate the pride month?

World Pride
New York (The United State of America):

What better place to celebrate the pride month than New York, where it all began. Though the pride parade takes place on the last day of the month, New York witnesses various events throughout the month. The city is known to host the world’s biggest pride parade with over 2 million people participating each year. If you want to be a part of something this massive, NYC is a perfect choice.

Madrid Pride
Madrid (Spain)

The pride parade here is Europe’s biggest pride parade and is celebrated more like a festival than a parade. The Madrid Gay Pride event is inclusive of live concerts, dance performances, drama, art, parties and much more. What makes the pride celebration in Madrid more special is the high heels race. The main pride celebration starts from 28th June and extends till 6th July. The pride celebration here comes with a special cause. Every year, a summit is held where various activists discuss on the importance issues and challenges faced by the LGBTQ community and try to come with plans to resolve those challenges.

While all the destinations celebrate the pride month in their own unique ways, a few things common that make all the destinations absolutely dazzling is the strong charge of positivity, acceptance, peppy and loud music, dance, food, concerts, art and last but not the least the hearts that make all this happen.
