Sorabh Pant’s New Comedy Show ‘India Vs the World’

Timed perfectly with the flavour of the season – politics, Sorabh Pant’s new stand-up comedy show India VS the World is all set to make its debut in Mumbai.

In an attempt to decode the supposed greatness of our country, Sorabh Pant and his ensemble of some of the country’s most popular stand-up comedians, will put it up against global superpowers like China and the USA.

About his inspiration for choice of this theme, the writer and director of the show, Sorabh, states that it is the year of the elections and the people of the country seem interested and aware about politics. The one hour long performance will explain probable reasons for Rahul Gandhi’s lack of presence on Twitter at a time while his competitors – Modi and Kejriwal’s prolific usage of the platform has become the talk of the town. Sketches of politicians, face-offs, panel discussions, surprise song sequences, celebrity cameos and IPL as the biggest and the greatest event ever – the show is bound to be a laugh-a-thon.

Something we are excited about, the pre-election debate that is a mandatory practice in the US will be spoofed with Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal in participation.

Those looking for their weekend fix of political comedy before the onslaught of the elections at the hands of some of the funniest comedians around, head out to the Tata Theatre: NCPA on the 6 of April.
