Here’s a look at the highlights of this year’s Europe Music Awards

The 2013 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) were held at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 10th November, 2013. These awards are held at a different European city each year. This was the first time since 1997 that they were held in the Netherlands.

Eminem returned from his hiatus of three long years and gave his fans a treat with his latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which hit #1 on iTunes almost as soon as it released. He won the award of Best Hip Hop artist and The Global Icon at the MTV EMAs which further cemented his success in the world of music. The fans of this best-selling artist went totally ‘Berzerk’ when he treated them with a surprise performance at the Ziggo Dome.

The audience continued having a blast as Katy Perry delivered an emotional performance of Unconditionally off her new album Prism following which she accepted the Best Female trophy, beating out fellow nominees like Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus.
