Why women nag?

Pooja Shetty answers a burning question, ‘why women nag?’

Several men claim to have a nagging wife or girlfriend, I can’t fathom how so many women turn out to have this undesired characteristic. So, I felt a little introspection and discussion with men I knew was needed. I might be on to something, so all the men out there pay careful attention.

The reason women nag so much is because of you setting wrong expectations. The blame lies with that batshit crazy-in-love Romeo part of you. When you’re out there to woo your girl out comes the best or rather the not-really-you part. Of course, when there’s competition you’ve got to be the best, you’ve got be her Prince Charming. You’ll never make her wait, you’ll open the door for her, tell her how great she looks in every dress she tries during her shopping sessions even if it lasts longer than the match you desperately wanted to watch. None of your friends are more important than her and, she will never substitute a guy’s night out.

Then the inevitable happens, she falls for you and just like that the chase is over. The need to impress her has died a quick death. Now, the only one crying for it is the woman. She does not know what hit her, there will be no flowers, no opening the door, no night time conversations. If she’s a Shahrukh fan, she’d be distraught spending sleepless nights wondering how to change you and how to turn you into her dream guy all over again.

So do us a favour, save that shit.  We know you check out women, we know you love your night outs, we know you secretly plan Thailand trips, we know you love TV more than hygiene. But you know what, it’s not a big deal. Give us a chance and we’ll probably point out the really hot chick that you missed. Research the good places for you to go out drinking to, or even plan your Thailand trip and yes, keep the evening free for your ‘other’ activities. We ain’t searching for saints, we want someone who is brave enough to share his real self, especially his flaws. After all, your imperfections make you who you really are. So we are not looking for a boyfriend, but a partner who lets us in on his life not partially, but completely. And if there is no dissonance between who we thought you were and who you really are, there is no reason to nag!
