You’ll Love Virat Kohli More After Reading This

Virat Kohli is like a chocolate eclair; tough on the outside, soft on the inside.

Virat Kohli. Need we say more?  But beneath his aggressive, beastly cricket armor lies a gentleman that a few of us know about or have seen. What makes us say this? Read on to know.

His Sunday night match performance keeps replaying in my mind and as a cricket fanatic, I can safely say that it’s going to stay that way for a long, long time. However, while fanboys glorified Virat to a cricket demigod status, netizens across the country took to trolling his ex-girlfriend Anushka Sharma. Countless jokes, memes and posters circulated on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp all through the night and the next day. This pushed the world’s best batsman (arguably) to take to Instagram and post this:

The caption on this post reads –

“Shame on those people who have been having a go at anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public.”

A gesture like this never goes unnoticed, Mr.Kohli. A man standing up for a woman is the epitome of a feminist attitude; one that is not ingrown by tailored PR tactics or paparazzi pressure.

See, love him more already, don’t you?

You can’t really seal an online article, but if I could, I’d seal this with a pat on the back.
