The Holiday Rule Book

The holidays are here and if you haven’t already been prepping, here’s your cheat sheet to help you get through

1 GET YOUR CARDIO GOING
Your exercise routine cannot consist of getting off the sofa and walking to the fridge. Try packing up two, 30-45 minute sessions a week to help work through the layers of fat that accumulate over the holiday period.

2 TONE DOWN THE MAKE-UP

Trim your routine down to four or five essentials. Be sure to include a sunscreen, foundation, blush, luminiser for your eyelids and cheekbones and a curler. Swap your high shine gloss for a lip balm with SPF properties.

3 FEED THY BELLY

Opt for foods that are fresh, delicious and equally healthy. Blueberries are good skin protectors, kiwis help keep your bones, teeth and heart healthy, almonds add a glow to your skin, corn helps protect the skin from sun damage and watermelon is not only yummy but it adds to the water content of your body.

4 WAXING WOES

Schedule a wax with foresight so that the grow out period doesn’t affect your beach look. Whether you choose to go the traditional way or opt for an epilator or razor, be sure to moisturize your skin post the removal.

5 BUFF IT UP

Once a week, try using a natural bristle brush before showering, it helps slough off deal cell layers on the body. It helps to smoothen and tighten the skin, adding a glow to it. Ideally, start at the feet and work your way up, firmly. Make sure to moisturize later.
